The Big Muddy Wildlife
Float

John Skelton of the United States Army Corps Engineers speaks with
floaters about his work on the Big Muddy.
The Big Muddy Wildlife Float was held September 29th, 2007.
During the float, 86 participants canoed 16 miles of the Missouri River from Franklin Island to Katfish
Katy's. Along the way, experts from the Big Muddy
National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, Missouri Department of Conservation, U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey,
Friends of Big Muddy, and Missouri River Relief made presentations about their
work on the river. The event offered most participants their first trip on the
river while also providing an educational experience.
